Current state?

What is the current state of research on STDs? I know there are various vaccine trials going on on various diseases (HIV in particular), but the last I heard they were not getting promising results. In what timeframe do you think vaccines will be found for the major STDs?

    As pretty much everyone here knows by now, I'm sure, there are two HPV vaccines out.

    Are there any other vaccines in the pipeline? I don't know. Maybe someone else here does. I haven't read anything about that possibility, but I haven't been mining pharmaceutical trade journals or virology publications either.

    I'm not too optimistic about an AIDS vaccine simply because creating one has proven so frustrating for so many brilliant groups. I'm not a virologist or STD researcher though, so I can't claim to know the state of the art.
