Re: Study: Many virgins take other risks
Wed, March 23, 2005 - 8:48 PMi saw a t.v. report on sex and teens...many of them were unaware they were at risk for sexual diseases when they performed oral sex. THAT was a surprise to me! -

Re: Study: Many virgins take other risks
Sun, April 10, 2005 - 11:04 AMThey are unaware becuase of the lack of Sex Education they are getting .
Many of the abstinence only programs are teaching alot of misinfomation.
Also Many people still asume penis, vag.. penetration is the only way to have sex. -

Re: Study: Many virgins take other risks
Sat, April 16, 2005 - 12:55 AMtrue, true. i don't see anything wrong with promoting abstinence, but i think teens should be shown graphic pics of STD's, and really given detailed info on them, and pregnancy, oral sex... and yet still give them condoms, because some are still going to have sex anyway!! -

Re: Study: Many virgins take other risks
Sat, April 16, 2005 - 6:29 PMI agree ther is nothing wrong , it you choose to be abstinence.
THe thing is some people who are teaching sex Education are using scare tactics like showing kids graphic photos of the worst cases of STD's and saying, this is what will happen if you have sex.
I think we should give people more that STD info, we should also give info about what is consiterd normal for a persons body.
Or what the body goes through when we get older.
Like for example if a person has never masterbated(spelling?), who are they going to know what is normal for their body?
or if there is somthing wrong, like a lump etc. Or what feels good for them. So that when they do have sex with a partner (when they are ready) they can tell them what feels good to them.
Everybody is different about what they might like. -

Re: Study: Many virgins take other risks
Tue, April 19, 2005 - 12:45 AMyeah, speaking of graphic photos...there are some on that HPV page you can click on...
i took it off another tribe here, and she said many people don't know those things are abnormal to have on their genitals!!! that's just sad!!! i can't imagine thinking some of those things are normal to carry around, or even to have sex with someone that looks like that!!! sex ed hasn't come far enough if that's the case!!!
