Hep B vaccine

I was able to get mine, and let me say: Get it if you can. Even if you can't, work out some kind of payment plan with your doctor or clinic or whomever. It's the only STD that you can vaccinated against (currently), and it's worth your while.

If you don't know the process, it takes three seperate doses over a period of several months: the first one on the first visit; the second, one month later; the third, three months after that. The thing of it is, the time factor is vital, and if you miss it/miss an appointment/loose the narrow window between shots, you have to start over from scratch, and that also means paying the money all over again.

fwiw, i missed my last dose after 3 years and my doc told me to just go ahead and get it right then anyways (rather than starting over) and that it probably wouldn't be a prob. i'll probably test sometime and make sure i still have antibodies.

also, 'family pac or pact' (in the state of california) offers free hepA and hepB vaccines for lower income women. (i think it might only be a program for women...)
